Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Marietta Team Behind Hadley Chimney Marietta
Most chimney companies send a different face every visit. Ours doesn’t. The crew that shows up at your door in Marietta, Smyrna, or East Cobb is the same crew month after month, and they’ve seen enough Georgia fireplaces to know what the red clay soil, wet springs, and those hard summer downpours do to a masonry chimney over time. Every one of them carries a camera, a work order they write themselves, and a simple rule: if they wouldn’t sign off on it at their own house, it doesn’t pass. That’s the whole culture in one sentence.

Our People
Cory Mitchell, Owner
Cory founded Hadley back in 2003 with a truck, a brush set, and a stubborn belief that chimney work didn’t have to be mysterious to the people paying for it. He’s spent more than two decades on roofs and in fireboxes across Cobb County, and he still takes service calls himself most weeks. If you’ve had a repair that another company wrote off as impossible, Cory’s probably the one who’ll climb up and tell you what’s actually going on, in plain English. He’s the reason every job here comes with a written guarantee and a free second visit if something fails. That’s not a promotion. It’s just how he’s always done it.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Hadley for going on nine years, longer than any technician on the team, and he’s the one who trains the new hires on what a clean flue actually looks like on camera. He’s certified in HeatShield ceramic repair application and has installed more DuraFlex liner systems than he can count, mostly in older Marietta homes where the original clay tile liners have cracked from decades of thermal cycling. Outside of work, Marcus restores old cast iron cookware, which his wife says is a hobby he takes almost as seriously as chimney work. If you’re in Kennesaw or Powder Springs, there’s a good chance he’s done work on your street.
Sarah D., Service Coordinator
Sarah is the live voice on the phone, and she’s been answering those calls for Hadley since 2016. She knows the schedule, the neighborhoods, and the common questions people ask before they’ve ever met us, like whether a sweep will make a mess in the living room or how long a repair inside the firebox should take. If you call at midnight worried about a smell coming from the fireplace, she’s the one who’ll talk you through what to check and get a technician scheduled for the next available window. Sarah grew up in Marietta and can tell you which coffee shop near the Square has the best cold brew, which matters if you’re stuck waiting on a rainy-day service window.
Devin R., Apprentice Technician
Devin’s the youngest member of the crew and has been apprenticing with Marcus for two years now. He handles the groundwork: setting up drop cloths, running the HEPA-filtered vacuum, documenting before-and-after photos on every single job, and double-checking that the workspace is left cleaner than he found it. He’s working toward his own HeatShield certification, and in the meantime he’s become the team’s unofficial photographer, which means your photo report probably has his careful framing behind it. On weekends you’ll find him hiking Kennesaw Mountain or helping his grandparents maintain their 1960s fireplace in Smyrna, a project he’s documented so thoroughly it could probably serve as a training manual.
One Standard, Every Job
Every Technician at Hadley Chimney Marietta works under the same standing commitments, and those commitments don’t change on the small jobs or the big ones. Before any work starts, you get a written price, not a verbal estimate you have to trust. On every visit, you get live arrival tracking so you know when Marcus or Devin is pulling onto your street, and before-and-after photo documentation so you can see exactly what was cleaned, repaired, or replaced, whether that’s a sweep in a Marietta living room or a full liner rebuild in Sandy Springs. Every repair carries a 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, and that includes a free second visit if a repair fails. That’s the Relay Standard, and it’s the only way the Hadley team has ever worked. When Cory started this company in 2003, he figured homeowners deserved proof of the work they were paying for. More than two decades later, photos, written guarantees, and a real person on the phone are still how we earn trust, one chimney at a time.
